Our story
Why Memory Seeds exists
Memory Seeds was born after my father unexpectedly suffered a heart attack in late 2024. Thankfully he survived, but it put every memory we'd shared together over the years into focus, as well as ones we potentially would never get to experience.
The idea became a way to plant those memories and messages publicly or privately, on dates that matter, so loved ones can experience a life story even if tomorrow looks uncertain.
Each seed is a tiny snippet on an enormous globe, rich enough for multimedia, but small enough to feel personal. We hope you enjoy Memory Seeds as much as we do, and that it becomes the place people go to share gifts, stories, and memories for decades to come.
How the map has grown
From an idea to implementation
Early 2025: First design features
Initial map and seed functionality shipped, with MemorySeeds.app chosen as home for the project.
Late 2025: Fleshed out
More features arrived: sharing seeds with multiple recipients, buying bundles, and lots of bug fixes along the way.
Early 2026: Live
First publicly available instance of Memory Seeds deployed, with many features and fixes still to come.
